This Ell-wing Folk Victorian was built in 1895 as a tenant house for the Davies family who lived next door at 2007 (now demolished) and sold to Mr. Emil and Mrs. Rosa Falke in 1911. Mr. Falke was a carpenter and recent immigrant from Berlin and built several buildings downtown. Rosa was a member of the Seeburger family (from Switzerland) who founded the town of Swiss Alp in Fayette County, TX. It is believed that Mr. Falke changed the appearance of the house in 1905 by adding a gable on the east side of the roof and updating the porch. You may have seen it on HGTV's "If These Walls Could Talk".
