Bammel-Magee House, 2004 Decatur

After moving the original house from this property to 2210 Kane, this Classical Revival residence with its distinctive eyebrow dormer was built in 1906 as the in-town house for Jacob and Beatrice Bammel. Mr. Bammel was a railroad executive and Beatrice was the daughter of the prominent Hearne family, of Hearne, TX. The Bammels had a hunting ranch in near-west Houston where today’s Bammel Lane runs through. During the mid -20th century, it was used as an in-town house for the Magee family, who owned the historic De-Zavala-Singleton-Magee Ranch in today’s Channelview.
