Old Sixth Ward

Neighborhood Association

Our Forward Focus - March 26, 2019

At the March 18 board meeting, board-elected President Roy de la Garza presented his three-point focus and vision for the organization:

  • Improved neighborhood affect—a need to be talking to each other more effectively about neighborhood issues affecting all of us and our property investments. The board will work to lead in this process.
  • Clear and democratically developed guidelines—everything will be as out front and in public as best as possible regarding board activities and initiatives within the community, from simple items to more complex matters.
  • Improved communication to support universal involvement. Dedicated email and telephone contact information will be publicly available for the president, PR and membership vice presidents and historic conservation officer, among other board members. That information can be found on the Web site here. Neighbors are welcome to contact us to share their ideas and concerns. Stay tuned for an announcement of the date for a Town Hall Meeting in the coming weeks.
