2215 Kane

This ell-wing Queen Anne Victorian house was built in about 1906 as a tenant house by Jesse Floeck, who lived next door to the west on a lot which was sold to the city in 1968 for street construction.  The house was duplexed in about 1926.  In 1952 it was purchased by Porfirio and Martha Diaz.  They lived at 2215 Kane, and Martha's mother Mrs. Victoria Velasquez lived at 2215 1/2 Kane until her death in 1961.  Mrs. Martha Velasquez Diaz was a beloved neighborhood activist and longtime precinct chairwoman.  She died in 2007, and in 2019 the house was sold by her heirs.
