2020 OSW Design Guidelines Updates
The City of Houston Planning Department, along with the expertise of consultant firm Winter & Company (WC), is at work updating the Old Sixth Ward (OSW) Design Guidelines and has requested input from our community.
To assist with this project, the Old Sixth Ward Neighborhood Association (OSWNA) is sharing information on this process, coordinating membership and community meetings and inviting input. Please participate in this brief questionnaire to help as Winter & Company and the city prepare the initial draft of suggested updates to our current Design Guidelines. We anticipate additional opportunities for review and feedback on suggested updates to the current guidelines as they evolve. Thank you for your engagement.

Oct. 2020: Design Guidelines Community meeting with City of Houston and Winter & Company
Oct. 2020: WC deliver Preliminary Draft of OSWDGs Update/Amendments.
TBD: Staff may conduct follow-up meeting with OSW to collect additional feedback (add up to 2 weeks to schedule).
Oct. 2020: Staff to provide consolidated comments on preliminary draft with any conflicting issues resolved and review these with Winter & Company in a conference call.
Nov. 2020: WC develop Interim draft OSWDGs based.
Dec. 2020: Conduct community workshop (virtual presentation with questions).
Dec. 2020: WC summarize workshop findings.
TBD: Staff may conduct follow-up meeting with OSW to collect additional feedback (add up to 2 weeks to schedule).
Jan. 2021: Staff to provide consolidated comments with any conflicting issues resolved on interim draft from all meetings and review these with WC in a conference call.
Feb. 2021: WC deliver final draft edited per consolidated comments received from staff.
