1807 Washington

1807 Washington was originally a small store.  By 1924 the store had been replaced by a small house.  It may be that the store was converted into a dwelling, or it may be that a house was moved from somewhere to occupy the space formerly occupied by the store.  Architectural characteristics of the house suggest that it was much older than an early 20th century building.

The house was destroyed by fire on September 10, 2012.  It was very close to the Broken Spoke Cafe (now B B Lemon), which was seriously damaged.  You can still see charring in the pole.
